Winter Landscape

I've been thinking a lot about landscape lately.

I may start working on some watercolors again to fill in the time spent waiting for oil paint layers to dry. I'm also looking forward to spring, and thinking about organizing another painting/camping trip with friends.  I'm not sick of winter yet though! :)  

Palisades State Park - South Dakota

Nate and I had the chance to go to Palisades State Park about a week and a half ago to take some footage for our film.  I also took a few still shots while we were there:


It was a beautiful (albeit chilly) afternoon.

I even got a chance to paint a bit.  I'll try to get my painting scanned and posted soon. :)  It was chilly though!  It has been dipping down under freezing at night - I suppose that is what we get for having such a mild winter here in South Dakota last year.

Inspiration

Nate and I bought a new DSLR with video capabilities.  I've really been wanting to play around with doing some video work.

Matt & Amber's Wedding

Last weekend we were in Wisconsin to stand in my brother-in-law Matt's wedding to his beautiful new wife Amber.  They had a perfect ceremony and perfect weather, not to mention they are completely right for one another.  I also did some of the photographs for them (along with Nate's cousin Ali) with the help of my sister who took shots during the ceremony.  Here are some of my favorites so far:

Sunset

The weather here has been a bit unstable lately, but it has resulted in some amazing sunsets!  Last night's was no exception!

Weekend at Spirit Lake

We were down in Spirit Lake/ Okoboji Iowa this weekend for a gig that Nate played.  We decided to camp at Marble Beach on Spirit Lake instead of drive home after the gig - and it proved to be a wise decision.  Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!
